iPhone Artistry
July 19, 2010
Dan Burkholder has been making some amazing images (and now teaching workshops on the subject) that were captured and processed using the iPhone, and a variety of Apps. I was so inspired by his images, I had to try to make some of my own. The process is very liberating, much like using a Holga, or other toy camera, because you aren’t expecting very much to begin with. So with all worries put aside, you have the ability to make some pretty amazing images. Dan was also comparing the process to painting, in that you are capturing and processing right on the spot, so you can work off the feeling that may have struck you to take the photograph in the first place. Here are some of the images I have made over the last couple of weeks.
I hope we will be offering an iPhone Artistry Workshop here in Santa Fe soon. Thanks to Dan for the inspiration…
